Candidate for State Representative

24th District

I live with my wife Lisa on our Farm in Joyce. We do not have any children.

I am semi retired but Lisa & I own and operate Straitbroadband Communications a wholesale Internet and large area network provider (think phone company) in the Port Angeles area .

I made the decision to run for state Representative based on my long experience in business and my ability to bring divergent parties together in situations where most people cannot reach agreement. Unlike my opponent I am able to dedicate a full measure of my time and energy to the task of representing the district. I also bring a strong level of moderation and am very involved in the local communities in Clallam & Jefferson Counties.

My opponent Kevin Van De Wege has exhibited a total lack of competency. Kevin has shown little interest or ability to exert the time and energy necessary to be a truly effective legislator for a large rural district. Being an effective legislator involves more than just being in session for 60 days and getting on a couple of committees. It requires the financial stability to be able to work at the post full time year around which I am able to do. Kevin has also shown more interest in catering to the interest's of his out of area contributors than his local constituents.

In closing I would hope that everyone would pitch in with a helping hand to ensure victory. My opponent has an unlimited well of out of district money to prop him up. Hard work in the only way to counter this; I pledge to work hard!
